This is an interesting and difficult topic which is the sort of thing postulated by skeptics: If we take responsibility for the good coincidences, then how can we avoid taking responsibility for the bad ones?

When somebody starts a topic, "If someone gives my aunt sparkly dolphin earrings after all this talk on the forum about sparkly dolphins, am I responsible for it?" wouldn't we tend to say yeah, you created that somehow, and think how cool it is?

On the other hand, what's the aunt's part in this, and the giver's part in this?

And what if the aunt got killed in a car accident with a Delorean?

For positive things, I've been surprised sometimes how I can just fling a wish into the ether and *poof* it comes true like magic.

A couple times I have flung a very nasty wish into the ether and they also came true, but then I want to think it's coincidence.

We are taught that words are powerful. So I'm careful not to yell at my cat, "I don't ever want to hear that constant begging from you ever again!"

How do we deal with these situations? Jack is asking an important question.
