Default Our Connectedness to Animals

Hi all.....this is my very first post, so please bare with me. I was hoping for some insight into our connectedness to animals--or more specifically our intuitive connections beyond

I have always felt a kindred(ness)sp? or close bond to all sorts of animals. It seems as though my home/me...or perhaps my family is attracting all sorts of wildlife. This past week alone we had a mother duck hatch nine ducklings in our azalea bush (which is quite close to our front door). She is extremely friendly to me and has figured out how to get our attention (she stares into the glass doorway and quacks until we notice her).

This past Friday I found a bunny burrow nestled in between my tomato plants (the bunnies are getting quite big and seem to not notice me while I check on my tomatoes). And lastly...and I quite possibly may have manifested this little guys existence with my wanting a toadhouse, but we have had a bullfrog show up outside our sliding glass door every evening now for two weeks. We joke that he is guarding the entrance, but hey...perhaps that is what he's doing....

Its interesting that when i meet or am around animals they naturally gravitate toward me--almost as though they know or feel safe. This is with domesticated animals as well as wild ones that show up in our yard. (Perhaps that is the reason it feels like wild kingdom over here). Other instances with various wildlife this past year include a pretty large turtle who adopted my front yard as his sanctuary (not sure where or how he meandered into my front yard) and of course the very large owl that visited last year atop my roof. The visit by the owl made me really ponder why my rooftop and what did his visit really mean....

So, my question is....is it that animals sense my natural presence and intuitively know that they can take refuge in my yard or are they here for some other reason? I am trying to look beyond the obvious answer here as one set of animals inhabiting my yard is one thing three or more is an entirely different thing. Thankyou for listening to my mini book here.....I am curious and welcome your comments.
