Well, for a start, to check if there are any physical or environmental reasons why she sounded stressed out, and the tone of her OP suggested, to me anyway, that she was possibly headed for emotional overload (perhaps I interpreted that incorrectly, and if I did, I apologize).

If you read what I wrote, I neither suggested she had schizophrenia or mental illness. I said that if anyone exhibited some of those listed symptoms, they might be heading towards a psychotic episode (i.e. a nervous breakdown).

In the UK, we can go to our GP to discuss any physical, emotional or mental related problem. The doctors my family have had recent experience with are open, sympathetic and understanding. They actually try to avoid prescribing medication. They want to help. They ask questions about your lifestyle, job, relationships, etc, to see if there are any possible causes there.

If there is a problem, and it is out of their scope, they will suggest a referral to someone more experienced. Usually, they suggest the sort of thing you would hear about on this forum – go to the country, get some fresh air, take up a hobby or sport, etc.

Again, to reiterate my point – if someone is showing symptoms of anxiety disorder or emotional overload, the last thing they need is to be encouraged in opening up their psyche/subconscious even more to the stuff which might be causing the anxiety or stress in the first place.
