That's a good question since most of us probably got different ideas about consciousness - not to mention pure consciousness...
Pure consciousness to me is a state of mind that is free from thought. It sounds simple and it is but let me elaborate on it for easy understanding:
1. It's a natural state of mind, not a trance.
2. It's a mind state characterized by awareness.
3. There are no thoughts going through your head.
4. Awareness without thinking.
We normally engage in endless thinking processes but as the thinking subsides, all that's left is
awareness of our sense impressions or the present moment if you like - that's pure consciousness to me.
This state of mind is soothing and relaxing.
Thinking has its place, no doubt about that but thinking also causes us a lot of stress and unease...
An alternative is to be aware or mindful while thinking. This way you'll be grounded or anchored in soothing awareness.
You can experience pure consciousness too. It's not an intellectual theory, but rather a natural state of awareness.
This is just my way of looking at pure consciousness and I'm open for other definitions and approaches.
