Zwynd: Thanks for sharing your story. It was brave of you to just leave. When I have better resources I will do so too, (I do want to keep in regular contact with the family though)

CroMagna: Congratulations! I hope the wedding goes well despite your family not attending. Thank you. Its comforting to hear similar stories. You're right about not implying any different views from them about religion, I've stopped doing that.
With the university degree- its a bit complicated. I started a university degree, (and I could not even motivate myself to do the work, take the exams or go to the lectures because its just not what I want to do at all- they don' know this) ...long story short we decided that I should switch the degree but even the degree that they agreed upon, I don't want to do. I don't want to go into too many details just incase someone I know reads this.
