Default hmm

I'm going to go againt popular opinion here, only because I completely understand where the OP is coming from.

Drinking socially at least for me lets me take down my gaurd. Usually, I am quiet and reserved. This is where the river becoming an ocean comes into play. When I let my gaurd down, I think people actually get to see the real me behind my reserved self. I say the things I want to do but am scared to of. I do the things I want to do but am scared of. This may not be the case for everyone. And obviously, there is a point where you really aren't yourself anymore. But you have to know your own limits.

I think if you want to be more "drunk" while sober, you need to live more in the momment. Go with the flow, don't be so analytical about what the ramifications of your actions. Focus on the now and enjoy it.
