How can one change human nature? |
Because there isn't a human nature. There's human behavior, but no universal nature that every single person possesses. Not everyone is driven by selfish ends, and not everyone who aspires mainly to further their own agendas will go to any length to do it.
If the current bloated power structures will always end up with a few elite at the top with the rest of us at their mercy, then the solution isn't to change who is in power, the solution is to restructure the whole system so that power is more evenly spread.
Of course, we need to be more mature for that to happen. I don't buy into conspiracy theories. I don't believe that everything that Dave says is true. I think where Dave and I can agree is that we, the masses, need to take our power back. The world is in this state because too many people want the government and the corporations to take care of them. "Give me a job, give me food, give me housing..." Even the old-time, individualistic hard-workers are in the same spot because they allow control of their lives to fall into someone else's hands. That's unavoidable to some degree, but it's gone too far and for too long. The fact that the American people have put up with a Bush presidency this long is evidence of that.
