No, I don't think there is a way it's supposed to be, it's just the way it is and human nature is just the way it is.
I think whoever you have at the top, those people will always pull the 'strings', to meet the needs of their own individual selfish agendas. I think this simply echos the human psyche at this time, and I can't see things improving anytime soon.
To be honest, we've made our collective bed, and now we're lying in it; and that's kinda what I mean by 'welcome to the human race', human civilization is of our own making..
