Thanks for posting this, Dave, especially the summary.
Really interesting stuff, and it's nice being able to read many of the main ideas in about 10 minutes instead of having to watch 5 hours of video. Your summary even inspired me to begin watching it, despite my usual lack of patience for watching long videos. I've only watched about the first 5 minutes so far, but I plan to watch all of it eventually.
By the way, in case anyone finds it useful, there's a way to create links that will cause a Google Video to start at exactly the hour, minute and second you want it to. All you have to do is add what is called a "fragment" or "named anchor" to the end of a Google Video URL, in the following format:
#00h03m30s
Adding the above to the end of a Google Video URL will start any Google Video at 0 hours, 3 minutes, and 30 seconds (assuming the video is at least that long).
---
Example, with the named anchor highlighted in orange:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8250619454941053618#00h03m30s Ring Of Power: Part 1
Starts the video at 3 minutes, 30 seconds.
---
I learned that trick here:
Talk like a Googler: parts of a url
Just thought I'd mention it, since it may make the video easier to discuss, since people will be able to link directly to any section of the video they want to talk about.
And, if anyone can't watch the video all in one sitting (like me), this will make it easier for people to come back to the exact place they stopped watching it.
Best wishes,
Apollia
