I watched it way back when it hit the Digg home page. I've also read the book.
I found it very inspirational. Unlike most sources of passing inspiration, the lessons have stuck with me in some form or another ever since I watched it.
I don't see how you could say it didn't offer anything. Sure, the ideas of the talk were uncomplicated and somtimes cliche, but it takes a genius to realize and express the beauty of simple ideas.
The Last Lecture is kinda like the Bach of motivational ideas. Now matter how beautiful, subtle, and well-exucted a Bach piece can be, people are always going to complain about how boring it is.
