Morticia, thank you for your advice, I listened to it. I first used some kinesiology to put myself in a harmonious state before trying to connect. Then I performed a chakra cleansing and opened them. Then I did some breathing and relaxing, feeling my inner body and grounding myself. I imagined some big roots growing from my feet into earth, and the same reaching out of my head into the universe. I imagined white light surrounding myself. Then I called my guides.
I didn't ask the angels for protection because, to be honest, angels don't mean much to me. I have no christian background and don't even know who Michael and Raphael are.
I don't know what angels exactly are so I cannot really relate to them.
I also didn't use any visualization because I'm a totally not-visual person. When I try to see such things, I have to consciously imagine something, and who knows then if it's my subconscious or my spirit guides?
I listened to your advice to meet only one at the time and asked to talk to my primary guide. I also found
this explanation by Andrea to be interesting and plausible, so this time I didn't go to meet them in an imaginary meeting room, but asked them to come visit me in my living room, where I was sitting. While talking to, er... it, I kept my eyes open and a part of my attention in my body, and didn't get sleepy at all!

I also expected to see and/or hear them or that something truly extraordinary would happen...
I thought of your question before trying today and just decided it would flow naturally.
I felt "it" in my chest, or in fact a little bit outside my chest. It was the same feeling I have dreamed about several times as a child, but had never felt while awake. It was quite amazing. When I asked a question, I suddenly just knew the answer without thinking or hearing it. When it was no, I felt nothing. When it was yes, I could feel a strange ascending feeling along my sternum.
Of course maybe I invented everything completely, but I don't think so. Or at least, I decided to trust the whole thing to be real.
