There's a heck of a lot of well known channels who would disagree.
Carla Rueckert for instance talks about how it's basically standard operating procedure for 4th dimension negative entities to contact people and pose as guides. They'll give advice that sounds positive so that you keep tuning in, but the advice is intended to subtly screw you up from further development, to keep you bogged down and not raise your consciousness, which would then raise the consciousness of the earth impacting the aspirations for domination which The Dark has.

I have a big problem with so many people going out and contacting the first entity that appears to them, and then trusting that entity. Most people who do this agree you have to challenge your source, you have to ask them who they are and ask them what they stand for and you have to send them a greeting of powerful love and joy in the name of something powerful.
Mato, you seem to have spoken to your guides for a long time and I'd really appreciate your take on this. I have "met" various discarnate entities posing as my guides but as of now I have little reason to trust them. And if you can't trust them, it begs the question: what's the point?
Edit to say: As soon as I hit submit, I looked at the clock, it was 2:22 exactly, and then I looked at this post, it was posted at 2:22 exactly. These are thoughts I've had for some time and I increasingly feel like they are not far off.
