Thank you for your thoughtful response, Fullcrum. You may be right about needing to be aware of people's negative tendencies; I don't know. What I do know is that thinking of myself or anyone else as a victim -- deciding that that's what they (we) are -- kills off possibility, strangles the vitality right out of us. That's what doesn't work for me.
(p.s...just to clarify, I was talking about most people being interested in freedom, connection, joy, and love, not necessarily being present to them at all times. But now that you mention it, yes, I do see freedom, joy, connection, and love in people's eyes, everywhere I look.)
(on the other hand, I do live in a town full of actors.)
