What do you mean by "dealing with the larger society"? Do you mean considering it, or interacting with it?
What I create I don't just create for myself, I create for the world. There is no "larger reality." What works, when you create what you want for the world, doesn't break down. On the contrary, it spirals up.
I don't know the vast majority of people, or how they live. But in my experience, most people are interested in the same things: love, joy, freedom, connection, making a difference. Some might come at those things from a perspective that is unrecognizable to others, but it's there.
