I seem to do best in life when I'm staying active and not drinking coffee. However, due to my seeming inability to do the former, I often settle for the coffee. It helps keep my emotional energy flowing when everything else is dragging me down. Ideally, I would not need it.

'Health benefits' aren't as relevant for the people who drink coffee and realize it causes insomnia, irritability, or whatever else for them. It's best to drink or avoid coffee on the basis of its more obvious effects.
