I don't think there is such thing.
I'm about on the same level as you (as you described it) at 16, and I'm sure there are thousands and thousands of 40-year-olds stuck in pride. So I think we are actually doing better than most!
I can relate though with the school work.. I'm not quite in senior year yet bet the pressure is here. There usually doesn't seem like a lot of time for other things.
