But I think it's a very good idea to give yourself a break from your compulsive thinking. That's the insanity. Questioning your beliefs, though, is a great avenue to real sanity -- being present. Question your beliefs enough and you'll recognize that one belief is as true as another. Of course, some thoughts are more useful than others!

You might want to adopt a practice of meditation for a few minutes each day in which you let go of your thoughts ... just be aware of them and let them float away... this is not necessarily a "spiritual" practice. You're just clearing out the gunk, and making room for new stuff!
