Interesting. I have had hypnogogic halucinations before, but did not know what they were. Usually, it is a sensation of something in the bed with me. I usually dismiss it, thinking it is the cat, until I realize that the cat is either outside or in another room of the house. At first, I thought it was a 'ghost cat' or something along those lines. I've never experience 'paralasys' per se, although often when this happens, I just choose not to move.
