This is interesting. I hope it makes the difference.
I've been a student of IM for 2 years or so, and I've tried it and considered it many different ways, and sometimes for months at a time with almost no results.
I don't consider myself a 'self-help' junkie, and I most definitely practice what I learn - as best I can.
And when I see people on Steve's Million $ IM experiment realizing huge gains, while I am not, I have focused on being grateful that money is figuring out how to come to me. I also scan my environment for syncronicities and opportunities, but very little happens.
When I act, it usually 'feels' inspired, yet I can't think of a single opportunity upon which I've acted in the last year that is making much financial difference at all.
I have only recently - the past week or so - started to question whether this IM business is a sham.
After 2 years of daily reinforcement, you might think that a person's beliefs might be solidly engrained.
I hear and read comments from IM teachers that dance all around methodology with statements like "BE RICH ALREADY" or "You must be in alignment with XYZ" or sometimes even more oblique instructions.
These ligoistic instructions are sufficiently vague to contain escape clauses for the teacher.
Abraham is better, as they offer specific exercises to move forward, but the problem with IM for me is that unless you are living in an isolation tank, your surroundings are difficult to ignore.
An angry wife, boss, kids, bill collector, inconsiderate driver or whatever may all be attracted into my life by me, but I have to deal with them RIGHT NOW, and when I'm done dealing with them, I will have to summon the energy to visualize with emotion and then try to hold myself there for God knows how long.
Another 2 years, maybe? Or more??
