Don't shop while hungry.
Make sure you always have food in the house.
Have NO unhealthy food in the house.

For me, personally, if I have food in the house, I'll pretty much always eat that instead of going out to get something. So by making sure I always have food in the house and it's all healthy, I completely avoid the temptation to eat junk the vast majority of the time. I'll sometimes be tempted while I'm out or at someone's house, and I'll sometimes succumb to that temptation, but because this only happens occaisonally, overall I still eat very heathily.

Obviously, this requires some willpower when shopping. Making sure you're not hungry when you shop helps with this. More importantly, though, if you shop once a week, say, you just need willpower for that one hour, and then eating healthily just follows naturally for the rest of the week.

It should probably be noted here that I work from home, so eat the vast majority of my meals at home. Other strategies may be needed to eat healthily at work.
