I'm actually doing this right now - I'm just starting also!
My method - a domain powered by wordpress blog and e-junkie.
My website is being totally re-worked as we speak (received great feedback from people on this forum).
People buy products from people they know and trust. A blog seems a great way to build my story.
E-junkie comes highly recommended if you're selling digital products.

I stumbled across
Slade Roberson's blog, and he sells his own e-books (on how to use blogs to sell your own e-books). His blog also is a great resource for marketing, etc.
I also recommend you read
Seth Godin's blog to learn more about exceptional (and out-of-the-box) marketing. His books are amazing also.
