I use "draft" messages in g-mail. "ToDo" "ToDo Eventually" "To print and read" "Groceries" "woodworking" etc.

I have scanned most things like this. (contents of wallet, passport, insurance policy, birth certificate, tax returns, etc). I store the stuff in a truecrypt volume, and every now and then, after making changes, I will burn another set of coppies to DVD and mail them off to parents/friends. So that all that they know is that I have sent them a DVD that has important data on it... They have no method to get at the data. Other people have my password. So, if they all get together (as in if I kick it), they will discover who has the actual data and who has the passwords, and then can get at the data.
