Are you still cooking a blog entry about this?
I would wonder your take on taking this question to the level of do we follow Life or do we tell Life what we want? The debate of letting life guide us "having faith and accepting" versus figuring out what we want and telling life to make it so "put your oder in to the universe". Maybe this is not the same as love versus fear paths (?)
