Well my supervisor is afraid of me replacing him. That's the whole problem. He doesn't want me here because he rightly perceives me as a threat.
He's buddies with the owner from outside work so it means he keeps his job out of friendship, and I don't progress in the company, because of that. I've talked about this directly with the owner, he stalls me. Tries to give me better assignments but tries to not hurt his friend's feelings at the same time. This has been going on for years.
Guess it sounds like I'm whining, or that I'm a victim. I've made peace with the fact that although I didn't get a fair shake here doesn't mean there's nothing better for me, and yes I am looking.
But what I've described, it seems to set in stone. It's all about people's fears, and their ego. I'm just one guy, IM or not. I can't change other people.
