Hi wellbeing!
From your quote;
Quote:

Rather than working with the whole affirmation right off the bat, use the single-word affirmation (e.g., "abundance," "success," "love," etc.) in meditation, right before sleep, etc. That way, you're impressing upon your subconscious the sense and the essence of your affirmation but without giving your ego anything to argue against.

I found out the exact same thing wellbeing. The mind or subconscious seems to really respond more strongly when you do it that way, for some reason. Great advice....
For the amygdala there is separate scientific research about it's role in fear control and memory, and numerous articles by mind explorers and the like:
Here's a exercept from an article titled "Evolution of God":
Quote:
The single most implicated structure in the brain is the amygdala, on the left side. The amygdala is a very social, and a very emotional structure. It recognizes the emotional content of other People's facial expressions. It's sensitive to tones of voice. On the left side, it supports experiences of joy, bliss, elation, and happiness. The literature of neurology as far more reports to offer about the functions of the amygdala on the right.
There, it supports the experience of fear, anxiety, and apprehensiveness. Unfortunately our need to recognize threats is more pressing in our need to recognize potential benefits, so I believe nature has equipped us with the right amygdala that is more sensitive than the left overall. Interestingly, and perhaps validating the idea that the experience of God relies upon the brain part that response to faces, one author, a minister who interviewed children about their religious alliance, found that when asked to draw a picture of God, the children overwhelmingly drew only God's face.

A claim made in Neil's book is that clicking or tickling the amygdala can decrease or temporarily eliminate fear.
The other claim is that when you "pop" your amygdala it will unleash an intense orgasmic experience inside your brain- bliss basicially.
Another interesting claim Neil makes is that you can do this to "bust" or dissolve clouds in the sky.
Experiences - For myself, I sometimes felt a ticklish sensation in the front of my forehead, that on certain rare times felt like being on the "verge" but not quite yet. And other times (though I'm completely skeptical of this one) I wondered if that object I missplaced just somehow reappeared in a certain place so I could find it... (all right, all right, I know)
I mentioned that one because telekinesis, believe it or not, is claimed to be another side affect of this, as from this example on neil's site where he is responding to a person giving feedback about this method;
Quote:
Neil -- Your account of mysterious teleportations reminded me of an incident which took place last week.
I have this crystal ball I use to practice contact juggling (if you don't know what that is, take a look at LABRYINTH some time; watch what David Bowie's character does with that crystal ball). I also have a rather heavy cue ball I use for the same thing (I switch from one to the other every other week).
Some time last week, I got the cue ball out of hiding and left the crystal ball on my bed, carefully covered up by my bed spread to avoid any fires caused by the sun hitting the ball and doing that ant-and-magnifiying-glass trick.
When I came home a few hours later, I forgot about my crystal ball being on the bed and got in. I didn't feel the ball, nor did it hit the floor ... and for reasons I won't go into, I had locked the bedroom door when I left, so no one could have gotten in and moved it.
Got up the next day and went to work as usual, came home again ... and remembered where I had left my crystal ball. I felt the bed covers, checked under the bed, and ... nothing. Gave up looking. Next day: off to work, back home. Unlocked the bedroom door, and there sitting on my bed in plain sight was my crystal ball!
Is this weird, or what?

Here are some experiences reported by a few people from his site:
Quote:
The amygdala "popping", could it be described as almost an orgasm in your head? I was laying down in bed a couple nights ago and my brain was doing it's usual turning. Nothing really out of the ordinary, just letting the thoughts flow through me, like you say in your books.
All the sudden I notice a very odd but extremely pleasurable sensation in the amygdala area of my brain. I focused on the sensation I was having and I figured that it must be on the verge of "popping." It basically felt as if the amygdala was spinning in my head and for lack of better words it gave me a very orgasmic feeling. It really was something. Thanks for your time, Austin G.
"I do understand the click principle. I do feel a flow of positive emotions. I have better time management. Yes, I feel physical sensations. When I tickle each lobe with the feather I get a very ickly, wickly, shimmery, feeling on that whole side of the body as I do it. Clarity."- Carolyn, Skytop, PA
Hello, Hey sometimes when my brain pops, I hear a burst of static on the cable tv or am radio. - David

My view of all of this is that although this is seems very weird/unlikely, you never know until you try it. Some instructions on how to do it is free and it's something you can see/prove for yourself, instead of just having to take someone else's word for it.
I also think that you have to be persistent and practice it regularly to really experience the benefits (if any) of it.
Take care wellbeing and everyone else....
