Hi everyone, I've been reading this this discussion and like it, I find the different views interesting..
I really sympathize with the posters who are confused and even skeptical of L.O.A... Their questions are pretty normal, especially when you are confused about it... why not have questions when you are confused about something?
cd2wheeler had a good point about trying to influence another person's actions using L.O.A... the idea of using L.OA. to create a situation where an individual reacts exactly the way you visualized him or her to is not always realistic...
If it gets too extreme, the end result is a type of superstitous thinking, where one thinks by simply visualizing this, it will happened exactly as visualized...the person is acting this way, it looks this way ect...
Here's an example, remember the advice for a person nervous about going to a party? Just visualize everything going ok... the people are fascinated by you, everyone is smiling, you're having great conversation, the life of the party....
But when you actually get there, it seems different... it doesn't go that way at all, people's reactions are different- including yours....
It's because you really did nothing support that idea... Practicing how to say hi and greet people, body language, how friendly you appear, preparing topics of conversation before you leave... AND the advice that you don't have to be the life of the party OR do things a certain way to impress everyone....
Do those things, and it may help one enjoy the party a lot more than trying visualize everything going ok...
Everyone that posted had some good points...Jennihul's was that maybe Floridagal should just stop if L.O.A is hurting her ....
cd2wheeler's that if you're using L.O.A to influnce another's person's behavior, based on a scene that was visualized, you may be setting yourself up for disappointment..
In my approach, I tend to leave out L.O.A when exploring manifesting; I test, explore, ask questions, investigate.. when something appears to work I remember it, keep it as a tool, but still remember it was my own experience...
Without the rules of L.O.A and other manifesting ideas, I go straight into experiencing and knowing... not that I disrespect the idea, only that I prefer to use a different method...
If Floridagal doesn't mind, I would like to ask exactly how she does her L.O.A visualizing; sometimes the way it done or the method used has a lot to do with the result.....maybe I and the other posters can help once we have more details....
Still, Floridagal, look at it this way, you are a university professor! That is a great accomplishment, something to be proud of! There are people I'm sure that would want to become one and use L.O.A to attract it and may have not; And yet you are one!
Take care.....
