Silva believed that when you meditate you can force your brain to use alpha waves (the state of our brains when we are asleep). You can use this to heal yourself and loved ones. You can use this to make things happen in your life and other's lives. A coauthor of one of Silva's books even links what Napoleon Hill was trying to say to what Jose Silva was studying, documented, practiced, and taught. It seems that Hill's method of reading your goals with emotion helped his readers accidentally tap into what Silva discovered.
