It's also worth noting that Fox News has a reputation for right-wing bias and false information. Ignorance is no excuse; the people who believe what Fox News tells them do so at their own peril. Whether it's right or it's wrong, there are bigger fish to fry and better causes to fight for. |
I'm not sure why you're resisting facts. If there's a picture of zebra on the door leading into your office that you have to look at everyday, you're going to think more about zebras. If you disagree with that, you're ego is blocking you from reason to protect you from being "wrong". I could go and spend my time searching for studies to impress you, but I don't know you well enough to invest myself that much, especially when you are so positive you're right that you deny a simple fundamental psychological truth.
As far as "people" as you call them are concerned, you're right. It's not your responsibility to educate them. And, you're right, ignorance is not an excuse, it's a fact. Many many people in this country are ignorant. We can choose to ignore that fact and just worry about ourselves, or we can attempt to be part of the solution. I'm not sure what your "bigger fish to fry" are, but personally, I consider ignorance the major problem with this country. You may not think this FOX thing is important, that's fine. But to tell people they're wrong to question it because YOU don't think it's important is wasting the time you could be using to "fry" your bigger fish. Maybe you should go start a thread on what you think is important to change and let the rest of us discuss the topic of this thread. If it's so unimportant, why are you here talking about it?
