There are so many drugs out there that its difficult not to paint them all with the same brush. Yes Stimulants give you a high that wears off, but there are many plants out there that leave you with a natural high afterwards.

Drugs can be a very destructive or an extremely enriching part of anyones life. My advice to people is to research the drug before you take it and show respect for it, the reason people have "bad trips" is because they are not "ready" for the drug or they are not in a setting that they are entirely comfortable with or around people they trust. if you are in a good setting, surrounded by people you trust, and have a good state of mine you control the trip. Certain drugs used correctly can speed up your spiritual development in terms of decades.

Have you ever seen those huge Christian Concerts full of "happy clappies" looking like they're high on Ecstacy? We have a Christian Cult in Australia called Hillsong, they have these concerts all the time and make hundreds of millions of dollars from ticket and cd sales. These happy clappies go to the concerts to have spiritual epiphanies which bring them closer to god while the organisers are laughing at the money they have milked from their flock (the Priests are probably snorting coke off the tits of $200 an hour hookers in the back room between sermons) Are these people really experiencing anything spiritual or just under the influence of mob mentality? I don't know, i've never experienced one of these events so i can only surmise based on my inherent biases

Everyones journey in life takes a different route. Especially in the realm of the spirit. You may die in a plane crash on the way to the Vatican, you may get crushed at Mecca, you may have a malevolent spiritual teacher who claims to have your best wishes at heart but is secretly doing you harm, and of course you may have a bad trip.
