I had always thought it was similar to the relationship between Joey and Chandler from "Friends". Where Chandler would make a point or a joke and then just sort of wait for Joey to catch up; "Come on... get there....get there..." 
I'll make sure I acknowledge that from now on.

Yes! I was surprised too until I started seeing the pattern with the people I read for, and in my self too.
