Maybe you should finish this education, maybe you've gotten enough out of it and need another education. You should try to make that exercise again to get an answer from your intuition.
One thing is for sure however. Doing something because it's more generally accepted is definitely NOT a valid reason to change your ways.
I think you just need to reconnect with that feeling that you used to have for this program. This confusion may just be a challenge for you to show yourself/god/universe/source/whatever that you are committed and ready to do what it takes to continue on this path.
