Anything is worth a try though - setting out on your own allows you be a lot more flexible both in how you do something of value to others and how you get rewarded for it. I'd honestly take a skills self-assessment if I were you, Elisabeth.
As a tenured teacher, there MUST be ways you can use the skills you already have without having to 'reinvent' yourself. Be careful of your path, because you have a lot of skills already that can serve you well instead of trying to learn something COMPLETELY new.
I don't know much about you or your skills, just a heads up.
