When I got that book "Goals!" I was pretty amped. He talks about LOA as well. His method was in the evening and morning, in a spiral notebook, write your goals, then ten action items you'll take immediately, then put a date. A few weeks of this, and I was like on another planet. It stopped being fun and started to feel so stressful.
I'm not sure why Goal setting is successful. I know it's important to HAVE goals and move towards them, but people think if they aren't doing so much busywork, all day every day, then they aren't achieving their goals. Then you get a place like this and people say "relax, feel good, THEN do what needs to be done" and I'm not sure how they go together.
You'll just have to figure it out. But I know for sure that all this busy work, if it's coming from a place of stress and negativity, then don't bother. Still learning the distinction myself. In our society we believe you
WORK REALLY HARD AND EARN EVERY DAMN PENNY BECUASE MONEY DON'T GROW ON TREES!
That doesn't go well with LOA.
I guess at the end of the day it comes down to "do you really believe that you can easily affect your reality with a minimum of effort, just with your thoughts?"
If you believe it, you won't be busting your rump. If you don't believe it, busywork, stress, Type-A, heart attack.
