Default Work and Social Life

Good day,

I recently acquired a new job about 9 months ago. I am really not depending on this job for my future financial goals because I have some entrepreneurial initiatives I am currently working on. With that said, it seems that some of my financial beliefs are different from my colleagues. So popular conversations about money, company politics, work life complaints and other issues I completely exempt myself from. In addition most of them are Christian, I am not. In fact I am not confined to any religion. Therefore, I also exempt myself from religious conversations. However I do find myself joking with many of them and most of them are polite to me. There are also quite a few staff events which I choose not to attend. I rather enjoy spending time with my friends who have similar ideas to me, my beautiful girlfriend and my Reiki support group which is very enlightening. However, it seems like my supervisor gets offended when I tell her I am not going to these events. I know she only wants my to attend because it "looks good", but I will be just keeping up appearances and indulging myself into small talk which is not my style. In addition, she has this idea that you should always put your job before your personal life so she is always working after hours and even on weekends. I have no problem with her work ethics but I do somehow wish she would stop trying to get me to go to these things. I have a life you know. It seems like some working class people don't understand that there's a world outside of work. Should I ignore her or communicate this to her.
