I like what twitter does. The premise of a text message size to answer what are you doing? comes in handy.

It gets its value in the amount of people who use it. I can follow or be followed by others who think what I have to say or happen to be doing is useful. And its small enough, like a title to a blog post to get an immediate yes or no the value filters of the readers.

I've helped people find new things that I was working on because I was twittering about what my current task was or what news article really struck home for me. I've also gotten good value out of the people I'm following: they give me updates on news events and things going on in their lives that are relevant to me. The key I've found is in the quality of what are you doing right now in the people you follow or what I answer to that question for the folks following me.

I'm interested in business, I do what I can to follow business leaders who are twittering about what they're doing, its like a short conversation with people who matter to me. It's different from an rss feed and that's where it adds value to me, its a two way SMS sized rss feed.
