No, he doesn't. A darkworker can realize that eating meat is unhealthy and stop doing it in order to achieve better health, thus improved efficiency and increased power.

Can a person who exercises, eats healthy, eats no meat, meditates, thinks positively, etc. still be a darkworker?
Of course. What makes a darkworker is the intention behind his actions, not the actions themselves. Eating no meat isn't necessarily an expression of compassion. It can be because of health reasons. Meditation isn't necessarily a way to connect to Source or whatever, it can be just useful to relax. Thinking positively helps reaching goals. So someone who does all this is healthier, more relaxed and more successful. Isn't that great for a darkworker?

Don't you think being a lightworker would make life much easier than a darkworker?
no!

Also, Steve mentioned that Darkworkers make decisions and act out of "fear." If a person chooses to become a Darkworker, how do they attempt to induce a state of fear?
What do you mean exactly?

Can darkworkers develop deep, long-lasting friendships?
I don't know. I think it depends on what you call friendship?

Here's what Steve says about levels of consciousness and about balance:
Polarization
