Hi Kelly,
It's ok... I think it's ok for you to feel doubt or some negativety when doing something like this for the first time or even the 7th... for example think back to when you learned to ride a bike, and maybe had feelings of doubt each time you fell down or couldn't keep your balance...... or think of learning anything else for the first time and the thoughts that we have in the beginning....
Usually in spite of the doubts we learn how to ride a bike anyway because we went ahead and kept practicing anyway... the doubts didn't stop you...you just 'practiced right through' them..... it can be the same with learning a new language, playing the piano, dancing...etc...I don't think I.M should be any different...
The idea that even the slightest negative thought or doubt can stop I.M from happening can really be draining.... it can also make the whole thing tedious, and urge you to quit....
So my suggestion is to continue anyway, and don't be concerned about how perfect you visualize..
For something like gaining weight, you can do something as simple as this; as you go to sleep at night, began saying over and over again "now I'm gaining weight" with more intensity as you drift off to sleep... say during the day as well....let's see what happens? ....
Take care..
