Devil's Advocate time.

First on the Steve side of things, since starting the Million Dollar Experiment he has earnt well over a million dollars. If he hasn't then based on his website earning reports he's lying.

As for the universe, who says this is the only one? There could be, and probably are others. Now the laws of the universe that make everything possible are nicely fixed and everything happens according to rules we can't even fathom, but who says that every universe has the same set of rules. There could be an infinite number of universes all with different rules. On top of that, there would be universes with the same rules, but different starting states, things like more/less energy for example. Furthur, there would be universes where the rules didn't allow any kind of matter to form, or some to collapse into a dense super energy state soon after the start. We have no way of telling.

This would mean our universe, and therefore this planet and the entire human species is not just a chance out of a million, or several gajillion trillion, but it's a slim chance out of an infinite number of chances. We weren't created by design but are the result of figuratively firing an infinite number of darts at an extremely small dart board.

As for me, I believe "God" or as many call it, source, is the totality of everything, and all universes, all times in those universes and all energy and matter that could exist. I believe we are all connected by just being part of this infinite energy. The only thing that isn't God/Source is nonexistance. Where the universe lies is the barrier between everything that is existance and everything that is not, as to include both. Our universe is a possibility of existance containing the essense of what is and what is not to give a stable and dynamic, time oriented experience. And we are all a part of it.

I like that version better than the old white bearded man.
