What would you do if you would never get paid for it? (I realise higher education has to be paid for at the time, but it does generally pay off in the end with a job/career.) You may not know the answer to this -- try some stuff and see. If you're really interested in going back to college, try some individual subjects. If you're doing the college route because 'it's what everyone does' then maybe try some other routes - odd part time jobs, interesting books, volunteer etc.
Even if you don't find a huge lifelong pattern, at least you'll have fun!
