I don't pretty people have "better" lives...everyone has things in their past or things they don't like about themselves or ways that they were picked on. However, I would equate it to white vs. black -- sometimes one has it easier than the other. Society will more easily grant one certain privileges. But at the same time, there is a lot to be gained from adversity. As Plato said, you can grow a great deal and develop strong character.
I am not saying it's easy to overcome that, but when you get to the root of it and find out what you let those things mean about yourself, you can begin to turn it around.
