Things are never the same becasue WE are never the same. From one second to the next we change, grow, recede, shift, alter... You may do something the exact same way with the same motions and the same idea, but because you and everything around you is different, you will experience a different result.

If you are having success sometimes and not others, then there's something in the way. Probably something in your life that you are doing or not doing. Sometimes you're in balance, sometimes you're not - which, BTW is whole lot better than most people who are almost NEVER in balance.

There may also be reasons that your Guides don't think you're ready for what you ask for when you ask for it. I learned a while ago that the world doesn't revolve around what I want or think I need. I get what I get when and how I'm supposed to get it. The less I fight that - and I still fight it just 'cause I'm human - the easier my life is and the better things are for those around me.

What you need to get is that it's not about the result. It's about the intent that brings you to the result.

The more you practice setting your intent without attachment to the outcome, the more successful you will be. It's like my wife: She was overweight her entire life. She tried diet after diet, excercise after excercise and was never successful. Then, she started walking every morning. Not to really lose weight, but just to be healthier and set a good example for our kids. She went from walking to walk/jogging; she'd walk a bit, run a bit. I remember the first morning she came home and was so excited that she had run her entire route - a whole two miles. A few months later she decided she'd do her first 5K race, and about three months after that, she decided she'd do her first half marathon. All this because she had become a runner, not because she wanted to lose weight. She loved running. It became not something she did, but rather something she was. Oh, and by the way, she lost 95 lbs. doing it. That is the essence of discipline.

It took Carlos Castaneda 15 years to become proficient with Dreaming. Some have a natural affinity for it. I don't. I still struggle just to get a Lucid Dream. And even then, if I don't do it around a full moon, I might as well forget it - at least for the time being. It doesn't mean I don't keep my dream journal, it doesn't mean I don't keep the Mugwort pillow under my head every night, it doesn't mean I don't continue to pray for Medicine Dreams every night before I go to bed... I continue to do those things because that is who I am becoming. The Dreaming will come when it - and I - are ready for it to come, not before.

Perhaps this is similar for you....
