If you are selfless because you want to (get into heaven/be recognized as an advanced soul/feel good about yourself/impress the hot new-age chick) that is a selfish act. Exactly. Almost all Human motivation is ultimately rooted in some form of selfishness or another. And whether or not it is considered “evil” depends entirely on other people’s opinions about it (meaning that morality is subjective). This is an issue that I’ve brought up several times in my own blog.
