 Red hat
Here's a trivial but interesting example. I recently participated in a thread about someone's disappointment at not having manifested a red hat, despite his fervent belief that this would happen. As I was reading the posts and writing my replies, I supposed I was imagining the red hat and that the image was falling into my subconscious mind.
A day or two later, I was attending a rather formal occasion and suddenly I came face to face with someone I have known for many years wearing the most bizzarely inappropriate bright red woolen hat. When I asked him 'why?' he really couldn't answer - just said he felt like wearing it.
Coincidence? I don't believe in it!
