Many darkworkers in positions of power today are indeed suffering from Darkworker Syndrome, meaning that they're going too far in the direction of damaging the body in the pursuit of power.
The current political leaders of the USA are a good example. They're
overdoing it, and consequently they're creating a mounting backlash. They're doing the best they can to squash dissent, including by exerting control over the mainstream press, but eventually it will come back to bite them, just as it did in the case of the Nazis.
