Child's post is mighty on-target. Worth a second read.

Your choice in the moment creates. The choice is not made by the mind, but the consciousness. Consciousness also chooses to create the mind and thoughts in the moment, so the mind has no hope of seeing how creation 'works' because it is at the far-side of the whole matter. To use a train analogy - the mind is the caboose rather than the engine.

If you want to use a process or set of steps to manifest something, the mind has already slipped in the back door and is trying to use terms it is familiar with. Consciousness doesn't use steps, or time, or a process to manifest.

'Choice' is 98% unconscious right now. Stop trying to drive the rollercoaster... it's on tracks. Your ability to be in the moment, at ease, and allowing the moment to be as it is, is your best way to receive the manifestation your mind desires, be it love, joy, abundance, passion, adventure, or the unknown. Resistance will show up in your rollercoaster ride. You need to stay open (especially emotionally) and allow space to open for the expression of self.
