I always do first person. I never visualized in third person (like watching a movie). For me, it is always easier to be doing whatever it is I'm trying to visualize. Say you want a sports car. It would be very easy to step into the vehicle, sniff the air and take in the fresh aroma of new leather seats, mingled with the scent of the carpet and the other components. Then you turn on the ignition, feel the very slight vibration of the engine running. Now, listen. Hear anything? Hardly, because this car runs quieter than your average car. Now put the car the car in drive and feel the smoothness as you cruise down the street.
