Maybe not Common Sense but Proven Wisdom? It is Proven Wisdom that if you stand out in the rain with no protection, you'll likely catch a cold. It is Proven Widom that if you spend more than you earn you'll put yourself in debt.
I agree that you can't always trust that what everyone else thinks is correct but there are some things in life that are going to be true all (or the majority) of the time.
