I think trying to speed things up too much makes you quit. Like if you go all gung-ho with a workout regimen and go from couch potato to running 5K every morning. You're going to injure yourself, and then you'll never put on running shoes again! So in the beginning, baby steps, baby steps...
As for me, I just got a $180 check for some freelance editing I did last month outside of my main job -- that baby's starting out my new investment! Which I guess I still have to figure out how to do. But that will be part of the fun.
