Hi all,

My life purpose:
To help businesses and marketplace individuals achieve success in their work/life and overcome challenges.

Approach:
I'm achieving my life purpose through providing business consultancy and mentoring.

How did I find my purpose?
- It took me a while to really explain with confidence, certainty and succintly what my life purpose is. I was able to articulate it about 3 years ago but I did not have the confidence or certainty. The certainty I'm referring to is the state where I know and I know and I know this is my purpose and doing anything else is really not me.

- It took me a while because I had to ascertain my natural strengths and that which brings me satisfaction even when things get tough. I did this by engaging in different activities, talking to people who knew me and did personality tests like Myers Briggs. Further, I had to discover who I am before I can really articulate my life purpose with certainty.

Difference between knowing and living your life purpose

- There is a distinct difference, in my case, between knowing what your life purpose is and living it. I have met people who are living their life purpose and they never seem to go out of energy or passion in their purposes especially when things are very bleak. This is one mark of a person living his/her life purpose.

- After knowing my life purpose (able to articulate it) I was not able to live it because of external circumstances and some personal issues I had to start resolving. One of these external circumstances was I had to carve a niche and establish myself as an expert in that field. Personal issues I had to resolve were issues such as insecurity, procrastination, attitudes and bad living habits.

How I bridged the gap between knowing and living my life purpose?

- I had a lot of support and advice from friends who are in the HR industry, people who specializes in human resource and veterans. Note that I was proactive; I sought them out and asked them for help. I didn't wait for them to come to me.

- I drew up a plan on achieving my life purpose; I had a life purpose statement, I explained why this is my life purpose, I broke down my goals into near term and long term, I took each of the goals and further broke it into actionable-scheduled items.

I am still striving towards my life purpose

Yes I am. I doing it now but I am still learning and striving towards it. It is really a journey.

Cheers!
