Check out Dr. Mark Hyman's website. His book might be cheaper on Amazon, but his website has some really good information.

The UltraMetabolism diet charts out pretty well the process of eliminating potentially allergenic foods, and how to reintroduce them back to your diet and see how they affect you. The diet is based on Mediterranean diet - good whole foods so even at it's most strict, you can share foods with your family.

Here's a link to the guide that's listed in the book. You might be able to tell from it if the diet is one that might work for you. Dr. Hyman likes Metagenic's supplements, but you can do the diet without supplements also. There is also information in the message boards about cost savings ways to do the diet.

For structure - one of the best things I've gained from this program is a protein drink Dr. Hyman calls his UltraShake. It is based on rice, soy or nut proteins, flax seeds and fruit. The one I made this morning had almond milk, almond butter, flax oil (optional), flax seeds, a frozen banana and frozen blueberries. I added a bit of agave nectar and vanilla extract. These shakes sustain me all morning. Protein bars could also be an option for you.

Good luck to you.
